Our Mission
At Legacy Empowerment Foundation, we are dedicated to bridging generations and fostering success and well-being across all ages. We are a not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to empower high school, college students, and aging adults through a unique, full-circle approach. We provide students with mentorship, educational resources, and career development opportunities, while also offering them the chance to give back to communities that have supported them through volunteer hours and hands-on experience in caregiving. Simultaneously, we provide compassionate advocacy, senior living and healthcare guidance, and education for aging adults, ensuring they receive the care and respect they deserve. By integrating these efforts, we create meaningful connections between students and seniors, enhancing lives and fostering a supportive community where every individual can thrive and age gracefully.
What We Do
Legacy Empowerment Foundation focuses on the following initiatives:
Empowering Seniors
-
Help aging adults and their caregivers make informed decisions about healthcare and home environment choices that affect safety, daily functioning, and quality of life.
-
Offer educational resources to navigate their healthcare and provide compassionate, scholarly advocacy.
Mentorship and Education
-
Mentor underserved and marginalized youth, educating them on the importance of education and job development skills.
-
Participate in college and vocational career fairs for high school students.
-
Educate about higher learning environments that support students from marginalized backgrounds, their benefits, and help students make informed decisions about the best learning environment for them.
-
Provide opportunities for mentees to experience college life at institutions that support students from underrepresented backgrounds through connections with alumni and exposure to different fields of study.
Community Service
-
Create volunteer opportunities for mentees to assist elderly members of their community, aligning tasks with mentees’ skills and elderly needs.
-
Educate on the importance of community service, giving back, and volunteering to foster stronger, more supportive communities.
Empowering Generations
We provide college-bound students with the tools and experiences needed to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and make informed decisions about their education and career paths. At the same time, we offer advice and advocacy for aging adults, ensuring they receive the care, support, and respect they deserve. This full-circle approach creates lasting connections between students and seniors, fostering growth and well-being for all involved.
